REINFORCEMENTS SET I

Cobra has made their move, deploying a ground assault (see LEGIONS Set I)  that has left the GI Joe team broken and shaken. With the GI Joe team scattered to the wind and disorganized from the sudden Cobra attack, the available troops are sparce. Determined not to let Cobra Commander get the upper hand, General Hawk has responded with a three prong attack of his own. Using the best of what he's got left at the Pitt, Hawk plans to take the fight to Cobra and get some payback in the process.

Sending out Cross Country with the HAVOC to halt the Cobra ground assualt, Hawk has also deployed the Tomahawk manned by Lift-Ticket to engage the enemy from the air and gain the upper hand. Meanwhile, Shipwreck mans the Piranha to infiltrate Cobra Island and try to discover Cobras battle plans !

With the current release of Valour vs. Venom, players will see an update of older VvV cards, and some brand new ones. After looking through the cards, only one comment came to mind: What were they thinking? At first glance this new batch of cards looks broken, in a good or bad way depending on how you want to look at things. There are three points I will specifically look at.

LEARNING HOW TO PLAY : NOW EASIER THAN EVER

The GIJoe TCG is a pretty simple game to learn, at least as far as card games go. There’s nothing overly complicated involved in playing this fast paced and fun game. However, even though I know this, some of my friends just don’t seem to want to put the time in to learn. They groan and sigh when I start explaining about how each card has an ability, and one does this, and one does that. It’s all rather frustrating to me, seeing as that I’m of the opinion that just a little bit of effort will lead to lots of fun. But to each their own I guess.

Valor vs Venom, among many other things, does give us the option to make a simple as ever theme deck that actually works fairly well. All you need are two cards. So if you’ve got one of these friends as well, next time you get the urge to try and “convert” them to the joys of the GI Joe game, use the following deck. Just make one for each of you and there’s no big learning curve on abilities required. Hopefully, they’ll get hooked on how much fun it is to play and then actually want to learn what all those other cards do.
